ARCHITECTURE

A practical understanding of how we work to shape the built environment

IgnitED Architecture

The Architecture programme gives participants a practical, visual, and people-centred understanding of how the built environment is shaped and how they might shape it. Young professionals explore how concepts become briefs, and how briefs become construction. h on to visit a working architecture practice, where they explore how concepts become construction.

The week begins with an introduction to architectural thinking, followed by sketching and site analysis in the streets, where students observe how buildings interact with space, movement, and community.

They go on to visit a working architecture practice, where they take on design challenges, sketch, map, model, and reflect. Two challenges — one on sustainability and one on AI — push them to consider how the future of architecture must respond to both the people and the planet. On the final day, students collaborate with peers from other strands in a cross-subject innovation lab - applying their spatial thinking to bold new ideas.

By the end of the programme, participants will see architecture not just as structural design, but as problem solving, storytelling, and a functional service to people and place.
