The Arts
A unique exploration of fields and disciplines that shape the creative industries
IgnitED The Arts
The Arts programme offers participants a dynamic, hands-on introduction to the creative industries — spanning fine art, design, performance, sound, and digital media.
The week kicks off with a game development, where students dive into character writing, environment design, and mechanics, uncovering the synergy between visual storytelling and interactivity in video games. Next, students step behind the scenes in theatre, exploring the teams behind staging performances — from lighting and set design to stage management and costumes. Later in the week, they explore sound engineering, gaining firsthand insight to crafting soundscapes, music, and spoken word.
Throughout the week, participants cultivate skills in creative development, collaboration, and visual communication. Two teamwork challenges — one focused on sustainability and the other on AI — inspire participants to consider how the arts engage with emerging technologies and global issues.
The programme concludes with a cross-disciplinary innovation lab, where participants collaborate to bring bold, original ideas to life. By the end of the week, participants will have discovered creativity as more than personal expression — as a powerful medium for design, production, and storytelling, capable of influencing how people think, feel, and connect
