LAW

A grounded, real-world understanding of what it means to work in the legal profession

IgnitED Law

Through the Law experience, students take part in practical, engaging sessions: unpicking real-life legal scenarios, debating ethics, and building their public speaking skills in a live mock trial. They also take on two challenges, one focusing on sustainability and the other on AI, pushing them to think creatively about how law frames the world’s biggest questions.

The week includes a visit to a live legal setting, where students observe how cases are prepared, argued and resolved. Back in the field, they explore how the law plays out in everyday life through a walking tour of town that reveals the legal questions hidden in public spaces, rights of access, surveillance, and protest.

The programme culminates in a collaborative Friday innovation lab, where students team up across disciplines to fuse their legal ideas with those from other strands - exploring what happens when law meets business, medicine, engineering or the Arts.

Across five days, students begin to see the law not just as rules on paper, but as a living system that shapes, and is shaped by, the world around them.
