Broadening Horizons: IgnitED Careers Mentoring Prgramme

The IgnitED Broadening Horizons programme helps participants explore what drives them and how their values, skills, and ambitions can align with a meaningful career.

Through sessions led by professionals across diverse industries, students reflect inward and look outward — gaining inspiration from founders’ stories, legal ethics discussions, and unexpected creative opportunities. Each workshop delivers a mix of insight, skill challenges, and personal development, designed to help participants identify what excites them and the professional future they want to build.

Two Apprentice-style challenges — one focused on sustainability and the other on AI innovation — provide space for creative, team-based problem-solving. These experiences sharpen collaboration, critical thinking, and entrepreneurial resilience.

By the end of the programme, Participants leave with:

• Working knowledge across multiple industries that they chose to explore

• Practical skills and career pathways to build upon

• Broader understanding of professional opportunities

• Clarity and confidence in the direction they want to follow

IgnitED Broadening Horizons equips students with career awareness, transferable skills, and industry insights that are highly valued by employers, essential for entrepreneurial growth, and respected in university applications.
